Book List for 2011

Anybody that knows me well, knows that I love to read. Oftentimes this love gets shoved aside due to more pressing commitments, but I always go back to it eventually.

Reading is a great stress reliever for me. But, inevitably, the times of greatest stress leave little time to enjoy a good read. Kind of a problem. And, I don't read in bed. If a book is good enough for me to read then it means that it will not lull me to sleep. Just doesn't work that way for me. Lastly, on the subject of my reading habits, the library is my friend. I'll buy a book very occasionally but it has to be one that I might read again and again.

Since book lovers are always looking for their next great read (it is an addiction) it's always nice to share titles. So, in that spirit, I've decided to post all the books that I finish in 2011 on the sidebar to the right. I think, to keep it simple, I'm just going to list the books rather than give a commentary. Each book is listed with one to three ***. If a book gets three, it's a winner. Only one * and you can probably skip it. I'd imagine most will get two since I'm a hard grader.

I know this isn't an art related topic, but it's part of my life, and therefore you get to learn about it, like it or not. :) I'd love to hear about your best and brightest titles. Please, please, I really would.

Lorrie

PS. Kudos to Gera Scott Chandler for posting her book list and giving me the idea to put it on my blog too.

Ah..History of Love was beautifully written but not always an easy read.

Well, I've read Call of the Wild and Shipping News! So far this year I've read The Kings Daughter (a Tudor romance :) and The Ruby in Her Navel and now I'm reading Darkly Dreaming Dexter (the book that inspired the series). Next up? Little Big.
Can't wait to see what you're reading next!
